Recipe.. How to make Puto


HOW TO MAKE ...PUTO

A favorite Filipino food in every occasion. if you have the time, you can make some of these this festive season.

Ingredients:

1/2 kilo of all purpose flour or cake flour
4 tablespoon of baking powder
1 cup evap milk
4 eggs ( beaten till frothy)
2 cups white sugar
1 cup canola oil
2 cups water
food color (optional)
cheese strips as topping

1. mix all the dry ingredients. set aside.
2. beat the eggs until frothy. beat in the milk, oil and water.
3. mix in the dry ingredients until smooth.
4. add food color 
5. grease molds with butter or margarine. 
6. prepare your steamer. add a tablespoon of vinegar to the water.
7. pour puto mixture onto molds. if you want really puffed up puto, pour until full. top with cheese strips.
8. time depends on the size of the molds. smallest mold takes about 8 to 12 minutes.
